Open Programme - Fairness and Professional Standards

This module will enable delegates to identify the correct procedures and people skills when dealing with Fairness and Professional Standards whilst adopting a Value Driven leadership approach. The delegates will explore the positive influence the MPS values and behaviours have when dealing with these issues.

Who is it for?

This module is open to Sergeants, Inspectors, Band D’s, Band E’s with line management responsibilities and equivalent pay bands.

Main learning outcomes

Recognise how the MPS Values and Behaviours and Value Driven leadership positively influence our dealings with incidents of fairness, complaints and misconduct.

Understand the purpose and principles of the Fairness at Work, complaints and misconduct procedures.

Explore and understand the alternatives to discipline and the right to manage.

Recognise the positive impact and importance of early interventions with issues of fairness, complaints and misconduct.

Demonstrate impartiality when dealing with staff issues

Identify the behavioural standards expected by the organisation.
